Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $749,237)
The George Mason University will assist law enforcement agencies in incorporating research evidence into policing practices. Goals will be accomplished through the enhancement of an evidence-based policing matrix designed to improve crime prevention tactics and managerial, training, accountability and analytic processes. The grant funded efforts will involve an interactive process that addresses specific concerns identified by law enforcement agencies through workshops, site visits, and detailed experiential data collection and documentation. Through this process, an expanded matrix web portal, toolkits, and guides that may easily be adopted to facilitate evidence-based policing will be created.
